Redistricting is the process of redrawing congressional, state legislative, and local district boundaries every 10 years following the decennial U.S. Census. In Michigan, there is no single resource to assist the public to better understand and participate in the redistricting process. Consequently, the Michigan Redistricting Resource Institute operates this website as a clearinghouse to provide citizens with comprehensive information on redistricting law, process, and news.
The non-partisan Michigan Redistricting Resource Institute is a Michigan-based organization comprised of people from across the political spectrum that recognize the critical need for a fair redistricting process. The Michigan Redistricting Resource Institute is committed to raising public awareness of redistricting and promoting solutions that benefit voters and strengthen our democracy.
